Review of A1 Grammar and Vocabulary (A2)

This isn't a new grammar point, but signifies the start of the A2 level, building directly upon A1 foundations.

Key A1 Concepts to Review:

  1. Present Tense: Regular conjugation (-t, -en), irregular verbs (zijn, hebben).
  2. Articles: Definite (de, het) and indefinite (een).
  3. Nouns: Gender (de/het), plurals (regular -en/-s, common irregulars).
  4. Adjectives: Basic agreement (adding -e before nouns).
  5. Pronouns: Personal (subject/object), possessive.
  6. Basic Word Order: Subject-Verb-Object (main clauses), Verb-Subject inversion (questions, starting with time/place).
  7. Questions: Yes/No (verb first), Wh- questions (wie, wat, waar, wanneer, waarom, hoe).
  8. Negation: Using niet and geen correctly.
  9. Basic Prepositions: in, op, onder, naast, met, van, voor, achter, naar, uit, bij.
  10. Modal Verbs (Present Tense): kunnen, willen.
  11. Imperative: Basic commands.
  12. Core Vocabulary: Greetings, introductions, numbers, time, days/months, family, food/drink, clothes, home, weather, basic verbs and adjectives.

Why Review? A2 introduces more complex structures (like past tenses and subordinate clauses) that rely heavily on a solid understanding of these A1 basics. Ensure you're comfortable with A1 before diving deeper into A2 topics.
